These are some common tips that apply to most sewing machine brands and models. 

• Bobbins: There are 86 different types of bobbins and some of those have subtypes. The user’s manual is the recommended first stop for parts. If you don’t have a manual, here is a good reference for finding the right part: *https://www.sewingpartsonline.com/. Enter the brand and model to view the right parts for your particular machine.

• Needles: The size of the needle depends on the type of fabric that is being used. We recommend Schmetz and Organ needles. The *Schmetz site gives information about the best type and size of needle to use for your projects.

• Threading the machine: A common thing that people forget to do when threading the machine is to make sure the pressure foot is UP. Raising the pressure foot opens the tension rings so that the thread will go between the rings as you thread the machine.
